The Hard fought Road to the East

Synopsis:
The important elements for success in war are as follows: the training of the troops,
the quality of the weaponry and the overall psychological strength of the army. 
This documentary film shows the construction of the Wehrmacht units for the campaigns in Poland, in the Balkans, as well as for the war in the east and west. On June 22nd, 1941; OPERATION BARBAROSSA was the start of the largest military campaign carried out by the Wehrmacht in the east. The German infantry and tank divisions were able to overrun Soviet positions, destroying high numbers of the Red Army in massive encirclement battles. Within the following years, the war in the east reached an apocalyptic state in which both sides concentrated on completely eradicating its opponent. This film shows an in-depth analysis of the Wehrmacht from 1939 to 1945.
